25th March 2009 - Day 16

I have had quite an eventful day today with regards to my progress and healing.

This morning I had an appointment with my GP, at which he removed all of my stitches with the exception of one which he said that if he removed it, it would probably tear the skin, so it was best left in place.
Once the stitches were out it was amazing at how much better and neater the incision line looked straight away. I also believe that some of the swelling has gone down even more as well.
Due to the slow healing of my frenulum area, the doctor also started me on another course of anti-biotics, just to stop any infection from getting in.

Anyways later in the day whilst at home on my lunch break I had a bit of an unwanted experience. After using the bathroom to pee, I took some toilet tissue to wipe my penis (just as I have been doing for the past couple of weeks) and I’m not sure if I rubbed a little too hard, but blood started to drip fast from the frenulum wound. Grabbing a towel, I applied pressure for 5 minutes before checking how it was, the towel was pretty soaked with blood at this point and it had still not stopped so I applied some more pressure for another 5 minutes. Eventually after about 20 minutes the bleeding had stopped.

I was completely astonished that this would happen now, when I really thought that I was well on the way to recovery. I returned back to work after applying a dressing and bandage to my penis just to ensure it did not start again. I checked it a couple of times this afternoon, and the blood appeared to have clotted, but I am now back to where I was 10 days ago with the frenulum area still being a wound and not healing.

I have been thinking was it me wiping too hard that started this off, or had one of the stitches that had been removed been keeping something closed? Anyways I will keep a close eye on it over the next few days and hope that it will start to re heel. I will have to put a dressing on my penis at night time as well just in case it bleeds during the night.

Hopefully nothing as dramatic will happen tomorrow!
